Really helped my workflow

CodeRabbit is fantastic! I tried the free trial for the AI Pull Request Reviewer and was hooked. The Context-Aware Code Feedback is seriously helpful, and the Real-time PR Chat streamlined our team's reviews so much. I will absolutely shop here again for future upgrades and already told my dev friends about it. It just works!

Good value with annual plan

I was looking for an AI code review tool and CodeRabbit popped up. The annual billing discount of 20% definitely caught my eye. I signed up for the Pro plan and it's been pretty solid for the price. The Automated Summary Generation and Line-by-Line Code Suggestions have already saved me a bunch of time. Felt like a smart purchase given the savings and features.

Just started using CodeRabbit for a new project. The context-aware feedback is pretty neat, but I'm wondering about the security aspect, especially for sensitive client repos. Anyone have experience with their enterprise security suite or SOC2 compliance claims?

A AnjaliK 4 weeks ago
We've been using CodeRabbit at my company for about 6 months now, mostly on private repos. Our security team did a pretty thorough review before we signed off. They seemed satisfied with the SOC2 compliance docs and the self-hosted option. I think that's where most of their security claims really shine.

P PriyaG 4 weeks ago
Yeah, I heard good things about their self-hosted version for security. Glad to hear it's not just marketing talk.
3
V VikramS 4 weeks ago
Self-hosted would definitely be the way to go for enterprise. Does it integrate well with existing CI/CD pipelines?

A Arjun87 4 weeks ago
Honestly, I'm just using the cloud version for open source stuff, so security isn't my top concern there. But I did check their docs on data storage, and they claim they don't store your source code, just the diffs for analysis. That put my mind at ease a little.

Following this, looking into it for a startup and security is key.
2
R RajatM 4 weeks ago
Good to know about the diffs. That's a common concern with these tools.

D Deepak 4 weeks ago
We ran into some issues with integrating it directly into our custom CI/CD, but that's probably more on our end with legacy systems. For security, we mostly rely on our internal audits after CodeRabbit's suggestions. It does catch a lot of potential vulns though.

So it's more of a detection tool rather than a full prevention system?

My CodeRabbit subscription is up for renewal soon. I'm on the Pro plan, but thinking of upgrading to Team since we've grown a bit. Does anyone know if there's a big difference in features or just user limits? Also, any tips for getting a better annual discount?

N NikhilS 5 days ago ✓ Best Answer
I moved from Pro to Team last year. Beyond users, the 'automated summary generation' felt more robust on Team, and the 'pull request prioritization' was a lifesaver for our busy repo. As for discounts, I got a better deal by committing to a 2-year plan instead of 1. Might be worth asking.

Following this, our team is also growing and thinking of switching plans.

Did you notice any changes in performance optimization suggestions with the team plan?
7
P PoojaR 5 days ago
Oh, 2-year plan is an idea! Didn't think of that. Good to know about the summary generation too.
4
S Sanjay 5 days ago
We're on the Team plan and use the GitLab integration extensively. It works great. I think the only discount we got was the standard annual billing discount, which is already pretty decent compared to monthly.
1
P PoojaR 5 days ago
Yeah, annual is usually a no-brainer if you plan to stick with it.

A AmitM 5 days ago
The main difference between Pro and Team is definitely the user count and some of the enterprise-y features like custom review rules, which are super useful for standardizing code quality across a larger group. For annual discounts, I've always just contacted their sales team directly. Sometimes they have unadvertised deals, especially if you're upgrading or adding more seats.

Yeah, sales team is often the best bet for enterprise pricing.

Custom review rules sound good for our team. Thanks for the tip on sales!

thinking about switching from SonarQube to CodeRabbit. Anyone made that jump? How does it compare in terms of catching actual issues vs just style stuff?

D David D. 1 month ago
I used SonarQube for a bit, CodeRabbit feels more 'smarter' about the suggestions. Less noise, more actionable stuff. Plus the PR chat is kinda neat.
5
C Chris Nguyen 1 month ago
Different beasts really. SonarQube is super comprehensive but CodeRabbit is more integrated into the dev workflow, especially for PRs. For just catching issues, CodeRabbit is surprisingly good, especially with its context awareness.

planning to get a team plan for my startup, but money's tight. do they have any specific discounts for startups?

R Raj 2 months ago
They totally do! I remember seeing a startup program mentioned somewhere. Might be worth reaching out to their sales or support directly to ask for details.
3
J Julia Whitfield 2 months ago
Yup, definitely a startup discount. My buddy's company got one. I think you gotta apply for it.

does coderabbit store your actual code or just like, the diffs and analysis? a bit paranoid about IP.

A Anna M. 1 month ago
They're pretty clear about not storing your source code. It's more about processing it during the review. I think they only keep the analysis results, not the actual code.
5
R Raj B. 1 month ago
My understanding is they don't store your code. They only access what's needed for the review and then analyze it without keeping it long-term. Seems pretty standard for these kinds of tools.

so, what's the deal with promo codes? like, where do you even put them in? i signed up for the trial but didn't see an option.

M Mike Torres 1 month ago
You'll see the spot for it when you actually go to sign up for a paid plan, like after the trial ends. It's usually during the checkout process.
1
D Derek 1 month ago
Yeah, it's at checkout, before you finalize payment. Not for the trial itself.

Is CodeRabbit free for open source projects? My side project is public on GitHub and I'd love to use something like this.

S Shane Nguyen 1 month ago
Yep, it's free for public open-source repos. I've been using it on mine for months, no issues.

M Mia 1 month ago
Can confirm, they explicitly say it's free for open source. Pretty cool of them.
